Quick Start: Complete Your First File Transfer in 3 Minutes
If this is your first time using vLanIO, do not start with every option.
Start with one simple loop: upload one file and download it back on another device.
Step 1: Start vLanIO on desktop
After launch, confirm:
- service is running
- access address or QR code is visible
Your goal is to get the service running, not to perfect settings.
Step 2: Access from phone or another device
Use either:
- QR scan
- browser with LAN address
Then verify the file page is reachable.
Step 3: Finish one upload and one download
Use a small test file:
- Upload from phone
- Confirm file appears on desktop
- Download it from another device
If all three pass, onboarding is complete.
Step 4: Lock your folder habit
Define a stable folder structure early:
Photos/Videos/Transit/
This avoids the common "transfer works but files are hard to find" issue.
